It’s cliche for me to say that I can’t believe we are already halfway through 2019, but I know you feel it too. It’s easy to feel anxious about another year passing, or to think about all of the things we haven’t done yet, but now is a great time to reflect on all that has happened this year.
This year, I’ve been making a more conscious effort to reflect on my past accomplishments, and to allow myself congratulations and celebration- even if the acknowledgment is just a smile and me feeling good about how I’ve spent my time. I would like to continue this reflection process and go deeper with it, so I figured June is the perfect month for us to reflect on the year so far, allow ourselves to feel good about it, then set intentions for the next six months.
What goals did I meet? What intentions did I stay strong in?
What did I do (positively) for myself?
How did I serve/give back to others and the planet?
What do I feel really good about?
How have I allowed myself to think, feel, and act?
What was important to me?
What would I like to improve or change?
What did I learn?
What did I experience?
How have I changed?
What am I grateful for?
Am I living in alignment with my values?
INTENTION SETTING QUESTIONS
How do I want the rest of the year to feel?
What else do I want to learn?
What goals/achievements do I want to accomplish?
What relationships do I need to release? What relationships do I want to bring in, or strengthen?
What do I want to experience?
In what ways can I put myself first, or take better care of myself?
How can I be more of service to others and the planet?
What areas of my life would I like to improve or focus on?
How do I want to be seen and heard?
How do I want to remember this year?
What needs changing?
Most of us are living in societies where productivity, and amassing accomplishments/”success”/wealth/material objects/social circles/acclaim/fame is encouraged and applauded. This leaves us forever chasing something, and never being satisfied with what we have. It’s all about consumerism and how much money can be made off of keeping us forever running in the rat race.
It’s long past time for us to reclaim our power! We are doing just fine. It is so important for us to take time to step away from it all. We do so much, yet rarely give ourselves credit for it, or allow ourselves to just enjoy what we’ve reaped for awhile. I am guilty of falling into these patterns of constantly trying to just finish something, so I can move on to something else- leaving me anxious and unsatisfied. Life is not a competition, and our time and energy is precious, sacred, and not guaranteed. We have the ability to take control of our feelings and our lives and decide where our time and energy should be spent.
This year I have been much better about going with the flow, trusting in timing, being proud of myself, and allowing myself to enjoy life and all that I have, instead of feeling like I need something bigger or better. We are enough!
I hope you feel good about yourself and how far you’ve come this year! I believe in you!
